Jose Hadad

Jose Hadad, the man behind Mad Mexican, is creating a Mexican food revolution in Toronto and southern Ontario with his fresh Mexican food line. Since starting Mad Mexican in 2006 at a small table in the St. Lawrence Market, his fresh and preservative-free product line has grown in popularity at local markets, health stores and retail shops. The local and artisan-made brand produced in Baby Point Village on Jane Street, is now serving up tacos and tortas in the newly opened Mad Mexican Taco House & Market

Hadad’s vision is to share authentic Mexican food and culture in Canada. Before starting his Mexican food products line, he cultivated his talents with time spent at Bymark and the Grand Hotel, and in 2005 was an apprentice to Michael Stadtländer for the “Heaven on Earth” project. Former co-owner and creator of Frida Restaurant & Bar, Hadad elevated traditional Mexican dishes with artful presentation and superior flavours.

As an invited chef for various corporate and government events, Hadad has had the honour to serve as executive chef to the Mexican Ambassador. Hadad is native of Mexico City, an honours graduate of Culinary Management from George Brown, and is an accomplished designated certified Red Seal Chef.
